Yes, you can earn money booking your own vacations! Whether you’re booking a vacation for yourself or a client, you’ll make money doing it. This means that you will get a significant discount on your travel plans. Earn commissions on Disney hotels, park tickets, cruises, cruises, rental cars and more.

This depends on your purchase price and the commission you receive from the host agency.
For example, you will earn about 10% commission on the Disney World package. That means you can book a vacation including tickets and hotels for about $2,000 and get about $200 back.
This is a great discount if you are already planning to stay on site. You can take advantage of any discount or sale that Disney is running!
Most companies will give you incentives for selling more trips. For example, Disney recently ran a promotion that offered a free Disney River Cruise adventure game if you ordered three River Cruise packages. Be guided through educational segments that teach you about the theme parks and other Disney destinations. You probably know a lot about Disney, but these courses are designed to fill in the gaps with other experiences you may not be familiar with. Knowing all about Disney will make it easier for you to sell a variety of vacation packages, such as Aulani or Disney Adventures. Your customers will appreciate your Disney knowledge!
The Disney Institute offers workshops focused on leadership, employee engagement and service. This program is a great way for travel leaders to improve their sales skills. The program is available across US regions, so you don’t have to travel far from home! Disney Institute courses are paid, but sometimes travel agencies offer discounts.
Additional in-person training is provided throughout the year. Last year, Disney’s AMA Waterways and Adventures hosted a Lunch and Adventures event and workshop that brought together travel agents.
Universal Studios offers in-person workshops across the country. These sessions are free for travel agents! It’s a great way to meet other travel professionals and learn about theme parks from company leaders.

What’s better than going to work in your Mickey pajamas? The truth is, working from home means working on your own schedule and on your own terms. I wanted to change careers because I wanted the flexibility to work from anywhere. Now I am able to work my own hours and am solely responsible for myself.
Create work hours for yourself and stick to them. Let your customers know what hours you will be open and do not contact them outside of these hours.
Unless it’s a true travel emergency, there’s no reason for your customers to contact you at night. Establish clear boundaries or people will start using your time, whether they intend to or not.
All the discounts I mentioned are valid for new and experienced travel agents. Once you are more mature and get your IATA or CLIA card, you will be able to take advantage of even more benefits!

This is true for park vacations and almost anything else you decide to sell. Organizations such as Sandals, ClubMed, Funjet, and AMA Waterways provide travel agents with access to familiarization (FAM) tours. FAM tours are a way for Travel Agents to see places where they can more easily sell their products at highly discounted prices.
On top of that, you can contract with other industries such as tourism, rental cars, and transportation companies. When you log into a Host Agency, they will be able to tell you what type of Travel Agency they charge.
Disney and Universal often offer discounted rates for on-site resorts through travel agents. The prices are usually very good and you can share a room with your family. In the past, I’ve seen rooms on sale for about 50% off. The only downside is that the rooms are available and there are closing dates over Christmas. However, you are getting a great rate for an official Disney hotel. You must have a valid IATA card to make a reservation.
Most hotel chains will offer discounts to travel agents. If it’s not listed anywhere on the website, call the hotel and ask for a Travel Agent rate. If anything happens, you will get back the booking commission with them.

Some host agencies offer free one-day admission to theme parks, while others will give you a good discount. This will depend on the status of your Host Agency and you will need to check with them if you qualify.
The main discount that travel agents go crazy for is hotel rates. Plus, you can get tons of discounts on Disney Cruises, Aulani, Disney Adventures, and almost anything they own.
As with resorts, you can get great discounts at any of these. I’ve seen $1,600 cruise cabins marked down to $800. It depends on the travel availability and they usually release the cabins two months before the departure date. This means you’ll have less time to prepare for your trip, but you’ll get a better deal.
I truly believe this is the best incentive. When I realized people were making a living out of theme park vacations, I knew it was my calling. I dreamed of the day I quit my office job and became a full-time Disney travel planner. Now I spend my days researching Disney hotel rates, creating detailed park itineraries, and connecting with amazing families across the country.
