Note: cut grade is not shown on our diamond cards but most of our diamonds have an excellent cut grade. You can always open the GIA diamond certificate for each diamond to double check its cut grade.

Our cleaning groups D, E and F colored diamonds in the same category because they are all colorless – in other words – VERY WHITE.

You don’t need to go for D color. An F diamond will look just as white and can save you a lot of money.

Clarity determines how clean a diamond really is. When a diamond appears “spotted”, the clarity grade is low.

For the clearest quality, select “F” (flawless) / “IF” (flawless inside) filter. We have combined the two as they look similar. After all, genuine “F” flawless diamonds are almost impossible to find. The filter will only display “IF” sorted diamonds.

Lower the clarity grade to “VVS” (very slightly included). Only a diamond expert with 10x magnification can see the difference between VVS and F/IF graded diamonds. They are also less expensive than F/IF diamonds.

If you choose “D, E or F” color and clarity “F, IF” or “VVS”, you will definitely have a diamond with the best cut grade: “Excellent”. You can always double check by opening a GIA certificate for the stone you are interested in.

There are many different shapes and sizes, with each diamond exhibiting its own set of intrinsic characteristics that make it different from any other. This brings us to this point. Obviously, you want to make sure that any diamond you buy is of excellent quality. Not only because of the financial investment, but also because of the emotional aspect. Diamonds are often associated with celebrating history, love, self-esteem, and rarity. So, you definitely don’t need a low quality diamond to represent your feelings. The question is, how do you determine the quality of a diamond? Our diamond buying guide below focuses on the answers to that question by discussing the 4Cs – color, clarity, cut, and carat.

Diamond Grading: This Is How Your Diamond Is Analyzed For Quality

One of the factors that determine the quality of a diamond is its color or, more accurately, the lack of color. According to the diamond color grading scale developed by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), diamonds have degrees of color, from clear or colorless to various shades of yellow. The less color the diamond has, the higher the quality. The diamond color grading system uses the letters D through Z to label a diamond’s degree of colorlessness.

Be aware that the differences between diamond color grades can be so subtle that you won’t be able to see them unless you are trained to notice them. That being said, grade can greatly affect a diamond’s quality and value. Another thing to note before we move on is that diamond color is not limited to the range provided by the GIA. Naturally colored diamonds such as pinks, yellows, and blues (a.k.a. fancy colored diamonds) are rated on a different scale.

Colorless diamonds are graded D, E, or F. These diamonds are the rarest and most valuable. When a diamond is completely colorless, all natural light is reflected back to your eye, making it appear sparkling. When there is a tinge of color, it is less light. Grade D diamonds are essentially colorless. E grade diamonds look very similar and are almost as valuable as the former. Even gemologists may find it difficult to distinguish between the two unless they do a side-by-side comparison under magnification. F-type diamonds, on the other hand, may show a small amount of color when the face is low. However, this is not visible to the physical eye, especially to an untrained person.

The closest colorless list includes G, H, I, and J. To the casual and untrained eye, diamonds with this color range appear colorless. In fact, G and H grade diamonds can look cool, pure white (like colorless grades) if cut properly. And since their prices are less than half the premium, near colorless diamonds are the most popular choice among buyers. They provide such a balance between beauty and budget.

Dull colored or dark diamonds are graded K, L, or M. Most people will be able to see the tinge of color without wearing a loupe or comparing it to diamonds of a different grade. For this reason, diamonds in this category must be set in a yellow gold setting so that they appear colorless.

Also known as lightly tinted, diamonds in this color range (N-R) have a yellow or brown tint. Because of this, the prices are low compared to other grades. You have to be careful in choosing the settings to keep the color from showing up too much.

Also called avily tinted, these diamonds range from S-Z. The color is usually easy to notice even when it is hung.

Note: Only certified diamond graders can determine color grading. If you want to set the
