In November, we ticked off number six on Makayla’s list of fifteen places every kid should visit before they turn fifteen when we visited Walt Disney World in Florida. During our trip, we traveled by various modes of transportation: van (home to airport), plane (Salt Lake City to Orlando), train (Delta terminal in Orlando to baggage claim), car (rental car in Orlando), bus ( from Downtown Disney to Grand Floridian Hotel), monorail (from Grand Floridian Hotel to Magic Kingdom).

We flew from Salt Lake City to Orlando, arrived late afternoon on Monday (November 11, 2013) and after checking into our hotel, headed to Downtown Disney for dinner (at Planet Hollywood) and a little Disney themed shopping .

On Tuesday (November 12th), after breakfast at the hotel, we headed back to Downtown Disney to catch the bus to the Magic Kingdom. We ended up taking a bus to the Grand Floridian Hotel where we could catch the monorail to the park. The weather was perfect: 81 degrees F with partly cloudy skies.

We started the day in Fantasyland. We enjoyed “It’s A Small World” and “Prince Charming’s Regal Carousel”. Makayla was focused on meeting Disney characters, so much of our day was spent looking for photo opportunities. After riding on “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh”, we met Tigger and Pooh. We rode on cups of tea at the “Mad Tea Party” and then met the White Rabbit.

We wandered over to Tomorrowland where Makayla was given a bit of a scare by “Stitch’s Great Escape”. We enjoyed “Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor” and “Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin” and then we met Buzz Lightyear. We returned to Fantasyland and met Daisy, Minnie, Goofy and Donald at “Pete’s Silly Sideshow”.

We went to Frontierland and watched the “Country Bear Jamboree” and then to Adventureland where we visited “The Pirates of the Caribbean”. (We probably would have enjoyed “Pirates” more if the ride hadn’t stopped for ten minutes while we were in the dark next to a pirate skeleton piloting a relic ship in a storm.) We enjoyed the “Jungle Cruise” and the “Enchanted Tiki Room” before the day ended. in “The Magic Carpets of Aladdin”.

Bethan Lucy: Top Tips For Visiting Walt Disney World

On Wednesday (November 13), after breakfast at McDonalds, we drove to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The weather was very different: 69 degrees F and very windy.

We started the day at “Star Tours”. (Makayla enjoyed the ride so much she wanted to go back.) We visited “Muppet Vision 3D” and then watched the “Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular”. We rode “The Great Movie Ride” and then went on the “Studio Backlot Tour” and then enjoyed “Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show”. We stopped by “The Magic of Disney Animation” and met Mickey and Wreck it Ralph.

We ended the day in “Fantasmic!”, a water show with Mickey. By the time the show began, temperatures had dropped. Our seats were directly downwind of the water effects. By the middle of the show we were cold and wet. So we ended the day and went back to the hotel.

On Thursday (11/14), after breakfast at the hotel, we drove to EPCOT. The weather was again very nice: 76 degrees F and partly cloudy. When we entered the park, we enjoyed “Spaceship Earth” (narrated by Judi Dench).

Disney And Orlando Theme Parks Are In A Season Of Earnings Reports

We visited “The Seas with Nemo & Friends” and enjoyed the huge aquariums with many different sea creatures, big and small. We visited “Living with the Earth” and learned about greenhouses, hydroponics and growing in water. We met Figment on “Journey Into Imagination” and enjoyed watching “Captain EO”.

From Future World we moved on to World Showcase where we enjoyed rides in Mexico and Norway, and movies in China, France and Canada. In “The American Experience” we enjoyed the Liberty Singers as they serenaded us under the rotunda before the audio-animatronic experience.

We returned to Future World and ended the day with “Ellen’s Energy Adventure”. Before we left Epcot, we found some fun souvenirs to remind us of our Walt Disney World adventure.

On Friday (November 15), after breakfast at the hotel, we drove to the Atlantic coast to Cocoa Beach to enjoy the sand and waves. The weather was ideal: 79 degrees F and overcast. (Lisa found the ride to the shore scarier than any ride at Walt Disney World.) On the beach, we paddled in the tide and collected sea shells. The double celebration and new “Beauty and the Beast” pose took place over the holidays with celebrity visits to Magic Kingdom Park, and Disney Parks blog writer and Creative Group Yellow Shoes photographer Gene Duncan was there to capture the moments.

The Flagstons Go To Disney World

Julie Bowen, two-time Emmy winner for her portrayal of “Claire Dunphy” on the hit comedy series “Modern Family,” visited New Fantasyland to see Beast’s Castle. After a quick dance outside, Beast escorted her to the Be Our Guest restaurant to show her around the castle’s dining rooms (no word on whether he let her see the mysterious West Wing).

Later, actress Rebecca Romijn and her husband, actor Jerry O’Connell, celebrated the birthday of their twin daughters
