Top 10 Female Travel Blogs

Top 10 Female Travel Blogs – Not gonna lie, I think I have a pretty good travel blog. (You probably do, too, if you’re here.) I work hard to give great, practical travel advice to help you travel better, but I’m not the only great travel blogger. In fact – and I know this may come as a shock – there are many things about travel that I’m not an expert on. Family trip? No idea. Travel like a woman? Ignorant. Hotel information? Just a little. Photo? I can turn on the camera if that matters. Food expert? Only during meals.

I realized it’s been a long time since I last talked about the best travel blogs – the ones I’ve read – so I’d like to take a moment and highlight some of my favorite travel blogs that might also help. you travel better and cheaper. , and smarter. There are so many good blogs out there that I’m long overdue to point you to some of them:

In addition to being one of my favorite people in the world, Jodi is also a freaking amazing blogger who writes frequently about food and culture. She spends a lot of time eating on the road, taking mouth-watering photos that make me jealous of her skill. A former lawyer, she also writes a series called “Thrilling Hours” about other lawyers who have given up being a corporate lackey for a life on the road.

If there was a competition for the best travel blog, I would tell everyone to vote for me. Then I would go vote for Audrey and Dan. They tell touching stories and take incredible, out-of-this-world photographs. Their blog focuses on cultural travel and sustainability issues (they even work with the UN Global Council for Sustainable Tourism). I focus on the nuts and bolts of places while they focus on people. They are just great storytellers.

I met Alex years ago in New York and we’ve been friends ever since. The author of an article about diving in Koh Tao, Alex is a photographer, graphic designer, travel lover and diving specialist who currently travels around the United States. Her blog has great photography, diving tips, travel stories, and snarky and self-deprecating humor. Also, I helped choose her blog name, so it’s hard not to love it.

Kirsten’s site is dedicated to the intersection of fashion and travel. She gives tips and advice to women on what to wear, pack and see while abroad and puts more emphasis on more expensive comfortable travel than I do. I think her blog is one of the best for women travelers and although it’s not meant for me, I find it helpful to share with others. Kirsten and I are friends and I enjoy watching her site grow and expand, especially over the past year. She seems to be everywhere!

Nadine Sikora’s popular YouTube channel chronicles her travels around the world. Nadine’s crazy, nerdy take on travel makes her videos fun to watch! She’s funny, smart, and a little bit awkward, but her filmmaking style really takes you to the destination with her. There’s a reason she’s one of the biggest travel channels on YouTube!

Gary Leff is a travel hack professional. Although I read a lot of travel blogs, I follow Gary because he provides industry analysis and behind the scenes information on loyalty programs and airlines. Gary doesn’t just provide travel reports or share offers and reward opportunities, he gives you context and a deeper understanding of how travel hacks and airlines work.

My kindred spirit, Earl, is an itinerant nomad tourist, just like me. We both love budget travel, hiking, blogging and everything in between (and yes, we’re good friends in real life too). I read Earl’s blog because he visits places few people visit (Kurdistan, anyone?) and tells raw, honest travel stories that don’t sugarcoat the travel experience. Very few blogs do this and that’s why I think it’s one of the best travel sites out there. I have been reading it for many years now and it deserves its own article! (He’s also one of the few bloggers I know who doesn’t accept sponsored content or trips!)

One of my favorite blogs because she talks about the “real” side of travel and isn’t afraid to get into politics, talks about racial prejudice when she travels and discusses the life of a black traveler. Most travel writing is written from a white point of view, so it’s nice to hear someone else’s point of view. Not only that, her tips and tricks are very helpful, and her writing and photos are also great.

Lauren is the most accident-prone traveler I know. Anything that can go wrong usually goes wrong when she travels. She is one of the most unlucky travelers I know. But all of these misadventures lead to amazing travel stories, and her blog is filled with funny stories that will keep you hooked for hours.

Plus, she gives some great practical travel advice and a detailed breakdown of how much she spends at each location.

Christine is an adventurous female traveler and my go-to expert on all things solo travel. She’s not afraid to get off the beaten path and explore less-traveled places, sharing her tips and tricks along the way. She takes incredible photos and also makes amazing YouTube videos (she’s one of the most underrated travel youtubers if you ask me). She has been traveling for over 5 years and creating insightful, entertaining content. Even if you are not traveling alone, you will still enjoy her posts and videos.

Mike and Ann quit their jobs in 2012 to go on an extended honeymoon. Eight years have passed and they are still on the road. They’ve traveled the US in their camper van, stopped at some of the world’s most incredible glamping sites, and written a book about unforgettable couples travel experiences. They are an adventurous couple with a strong focus on nature and sustainability, and they share plenty of advice about living in a motorhome, traveling for couples, and long distance travel.

Chubby Diaries is run by Jeff Jenkins and focuses on plus size travel. His blog openly combats bodyshaming and provides travelers of all shapes and sizes with resources and inspiration. His optimism and positivity are contagious and he never shirks from telling it like it is. Jeff goes out of his way to shake things up and make the travel space more inclusive. He is an amazing guy who creates incredible content.

Adam has one of the best LGBTQ bloggers around. (He also wrote a bunch of LGBT content for the site!) It focuses on gay travel and lifestyle content, with a focus on hipster city guides. If you want to know where to find the coolest bars, trendiest cafes and the best nightclubs, ask Adam. As a former expat, he also has a ton of great content about Berlin, one of Europe’s most fashionable and artsy cities.

Ciara is a solo traveler who shares honest, insightful thoughts and travel advice. She has been featured in major travel publications and has developed many fans who appreciate her sincere style and honesty in her travels as a single black female traveler. She is a good writer and creates a lot of practical and useful content.

You can book your hostel with Hostelworld. If you want to stay somewhere other than a hostel, use Booking.com as it consistently offers the lowest prices for guest houses and hotels.

Travel insurance will protect you from illness, injury, theft and cancellations. This is a comprehensive protection in case something goes wrong. I never go on a trip without it as I have had to use it many times in the past. My favorite companies that offer the best service and value are:

Travel credit cards allow you to earn points that can be used to pay for free flights and accommodation. This is what makes me travel so much for so little. Check out my guide to choosing the right card and my current favorites to get started and see the latest best deals.
