As you watch children build structures with blocks, you will see them learning math. They might count the blocks used to make the castle. Perhaps they will comment on the shape and color of the blocks. Children can be said to be taller than what they have created.
Watch them play outside. They may be counting or sorting the leaves they collect. They may use a stick to measure the playground fence. I’m sure you’ll hear some observations about the surrounding colors.
