The Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel recently underwent a $30 million renovation that has been in the works for 20 years. The renovation took four years and was completed in 2019. The aim of the design was to restore the original Art Moderne influences in the hotel.
Carpets, railings and other aspects of the hotel have been upgraded using sustainable resources, while the rooms have also been redesigned. Guest rooms that did not have attached bathrooms had a room added. All hotel rooms now have en-suite baths and some even have refurbished baths from the original hotel!

The Mammoth Hotel is one of two park hotels open for the Yellowstone winter season. This can be a great time to visit Yellowstone as the crowds are gone and the chill makes the hot springs and geyser pools look steamy and mysterious against the snow.
When you stay at the Mammoth Hotel in the winter, you can easily do cross-country skiing thanks to the on-site rental shop. There are also winter tours you can take, including day trips to cross-country ski, see Old Faithful, and explore the North Geyser Basin on a guided tour.
