Recreation Department – As an agency dedicated to serving the community as a whole, the City welcomes all people regardless of gender, age, ability or socio-economic status. We encourage participation in programming by all community members to promote health, wellness, social skills, leadership training, discipline, personal well-being and special abilities. The City believes that recreation is essential to any well-rounded individual and can improve the lives of everyone who participates in it.
The city continuously offers opportunities to participate in the program through various venues including but not limited to dance, art, sports, martial arts, athletic leagues, swimming, theater, extreme sports and camps. Inclusion programs are designed for individuals with “special abilities” including summer camps for preschool, elementary, middle school, and high school age participants. Inclusion programs are routinely implemented with broad community support and participation, including funding for additional counselors and adaptive equipment.

The City of Naples is pleased to offer convenient online registration for many of our recreation programs, activities and memberships.
Parks and Recreation Online is a comprehensive information site with facility information, program listings and online registration. You can see the availability and information about renting the facilities; however, rentals must be made in person at one of the city’s community centers.
The software system used for online registration has a processing fee that is determined by the total costs for the selected activities. This is not a fee set by the City of Naples. Once you proceed with your checkout, you will see the processing fee. At that point, you can proceed with payment or exit if you do not wish to pay the fee or complete the online registration.
You can also apply for programs by visiting or calling one of the department offices listed below. The mission of the Recreation Department is to provide, publicize, maintain, arrange and manage the city’s recreational facilities and programs for the use of residents and visitors of all ages, in accordance with a fee schedule established by the City Council. The department provides trained, certified personnel for water protection on city beaches and water facilities; maintain children’s playgrounds; and provide funds for the maintenance of city parks.

The department is to manage the City of Vero Beach Recreation Department and staff, including budgeting, staffing, requisitioning and administration of trained, certified water safety personnel at city beaches and water facilities.
The Vero Beach Recreation Department encourages and welcomes everyone to participate in the programs made available by the Recreation Department. We will make every effort to meet special needs within the activities. Financial aid is available. All programs and activities listed on this website are open to all residents of Indian River County, regardless of location. For the convenience of beachgoers, specially designed wheelchairs are available for use at South Beach Park.
