This work included the identification of financing models and a variety of options for the size and scale of use of the facility. Consultants were hired to provide expert input and recommendations. Construction estimates were provided for conceptual design options. Through consultation with an expert in recreation center operations, several key strategies and information on operating costs for these types of facilities were also provided. The feasibility study, which was based on consultation with sports and recreation groups and the public, concluded that there is a need for a new center in Parksville.
