In public parks, dogs must be on a leash from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. during daylight saving time and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. According to CO 907.06: “No person shall willfully damage, cut, carve, graft or remove any public tree or shrub unless specifically authorized by the City Manager. attach to any tree or shrub any rope, wire, peg, advertisement poster or other device, and allow any gaseous liquid or solid substance harmful to such tree or shrub to attach to them; or burn or permit the burning of any part of any common tree or bush by reason of such fire or the heat thereof. Parks and forestry staff regularly remove such items during routine maintenance, mowing and litter removal. Items removed include chairs, athletic equipment, water bottles, bicycles and other items left in city parks. If removed items are of obvious value, they are held at the Public Service Center for 30 days and are available during normal business hours.

Sand volleyball courts are available for rent through the shelter at Reed Road Park by contacting the Parks and Recreation Office at 614-583-5300. 7 a.m. to p.m. Available till 11. Athletic fields are available for rent beginning in mid-April by calling Mac Kinney at 614-583-5057. Accommodations at Thompson, Fancyburg and Reed Road Parks are available for rent only to individuals and organizations.

There are volunteer forms to fill out on the Upper Arlington website. Volunteering is event based and will take place on specific dates. Fill in your name and information and a member of Parks and Rec. Staff will contact you with an available event. Volunteer forms can be found here.
All large parks have paved multi-use paths for walkers, joggers, roller bladers, etc. Mileage for these routes is listed on the maps below. Additionally, Thompson Park includes fitness station equipment spaced along the trail.

In inclement weather athletic fields are rescheduled or have refund issues and the field is too wet to start play. A recorded message is placed on the Parks and Recreation hotline at 614-583-5345 to notify all users of field cancellations.
No refunds will be given for accommodation reservations canceled due to inclement weather. All lodging houses in our system are fully enclosed and, therefore, not subject to weather cancellations. Facility users assume the risk of adverse weather conditions when reserving a Facility.
If We Cancel – The Upper Arlington Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel any reservations or close the athletic fields. If this situation occurs, a full refund will be issued.

If you cancel – To cancel a reservation, you may call the Upper Arlington Parks and Recreation Department office at 614-583-5300 or the Senior Center at 614-583-5320. Cancellation requires written notice (email or mail).
Refunds – A refund (less a $25 fee) is provided when a shelter home or senior center is canceled 90 days prior to the rental date. All Amelita Mirolo Barn deposits are non-refundable. A 50% refund is given when cancellations are made 30-89 days prior to the rental date of a Shelter House, Amelita Mirolo Barn or Senior Center. A shelter home, Amelita Mirolo Barn or Senior Center cancellation less than 30 days prior to rental date is non-refundable. Refunds for emergencies or difficulties are made on a case-by-case basis. All decisions for refunds are at the discretion of the Parks and Recreation Director.

Children could be heard laughing in the background as a Chilliwack park opened Saturday (June 26) thanks to the donation of two pieces of residential property.
Neegulbah Park Playground
The play structures at Philippson Family Park in Promontory were officially opened to the public that morning and the land on Sylvan Drive where the new park is located was donated by Rodney Philippson, 82, who has lived in Promontory for more than two decades.
“I spent 26 years there (he moved to Promontory in 1994) and I wanted to leave something behind,” said Phillipson in March, who lived across the street from the property and has since moved to the Cascades and lives in assisted living. facility in Chilliwack. “I’m not going to live forever, I wanted to use my resources to give back to the community.”
Despite the warm weather on Saturday, city staff were there along with other dignitaries and guests to officially open the nautical theme park.
“This is a neighborhood that needed (a park). The planning was perfect, the generosity was incredible, the sun and the moon all aligned and here we are today,” said Chilliwack City Councilman Bud Mercer. “The legacy this park brings to the city will last for generations.”
Park Pals: Playground Playdate
The two neighboring properties (about a third of an acre) were donated to the city three years ago and valued at $750,000 at the time.
The nautical theme is an homage to Phillipson’s long career as a West Coast fisherman and features the words “Galliano Queen” on the side of the boat’s sports structure. It was named Phillipson’s Boat.
The park is dedicated to the community, Phillipson’s parents and “a better life” for everyone who immigrated to Canada, Phillipson said.
About half of the space is occupied by the playground and the other half is a green area. Playground zone street signs are planned to be installed soon. Reviviendo Playground is part of Campagnone Common in North Lawrence. This park is one of our favorites to visit during the summer, because of the many festivals that are usually held. There is no parking lot but we never had a problem finding street parking.
Caterpillar Park, Milton Keynes
The playground is set back from the road and surrounded by a black metal fence with two entrances. Since they are close together and face out of the way, I’ve never had a problem with either child running free. There are 4 garbage cans around the entrance and 15 benches on the fence. When we got there, a crew of guys were working around the park, cleaning up trash and landscaping. The Common is one of Lawrence’s most well-maintained parks and is located across from City Hall.
Outside the fenced area there are more benches, walkways, spectator seats, several historical war memorials, a water fountain and more. Adjacent to the playground is an area with metal tables and chairs and is available most evenings
