Outdoor Play For Early Years

Outdoor Play For Early Years – We all know that classroom time is important for student growth, but we at Red Monkey Play believe that there are many ways for students to learn. This is especially true in the teenage years, where students need different contexts to process information. This is why we make school playground equipment that is designed not only for fun but for learning as well.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets standards for learning and development for children from early childhood to the age of five. Some of the key areas that our EYFS play products focus on include Physical, Communication and Language Development and Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED). The full study areas are:

The EYFS wants schools to teach children more through play. This can be done in the classroom in a number of ways but to give children full development, they need to be taken outside. Using school playground equipment helps them understand the world better and also develop physically.

Ib Early Years Programme (eyp)

These are the obvious areas that a student will develop using playground equipment, but Red Monkey Play ensures that we develop equipment that goes beyond this. We ensure that our facilities encourage social development. Having students navigate this free space together will help them develop their communication skills as well as language skills.

Let’s see what playground equipment helps with physical development. With more and more obese school leavers, this area of development seems more important than ever. When children participate in physical sports it not only improves their strength but also builds confidence as they overcome new challenges. These physical challenges include, but are not limited to, climbing, balancing and coordination.

One great way to encourage this is through Trim Trails. Using wood and rope, Red Money Trim Trails are creatively designed to mimic a natural, challenging and fun play environment. Encourages children to develop balance, coordination and imagination through role play.

Monkey Play’s variety of Physical Development Climbing Frames let kids do what they do best – run, jump, climb, crawl and play! Physical challenges develop coordination and balance skills while providing an ideal environment for interactive social play. Designed to be enjoyed by children of all ages, our play equipment puts the fun into fitness.

Why Is Free Play Important In The Early Years?

The best way to develop personal, social and emotional skills besides communication and language is through play. It allows children to get into character and act out real-life roles or fictional shows. It can only be directed by children and encourages children to take risks and be creative with the role they play. Role-play is often a group activity, so having children play out their roles for each other is a good skill to develop as well as the empathy it takes to pretend to be someone or something else.

Our role play equipment gives them great opportunities to act out exciting situations on their own or with other students. Allowing children to role-play real-life situations, such as grocery shopping, camping or driving gives them the opportunity to learn about the environment and real-life situations at their own pace. When they participate in this type of role play, they can develop their verbal communication skills and physical behaviors by practicing what they have already learned in real life situations. We take this idea and give it a cute twist with our little hobbit explorers’ houses.

Our dedicated and talented Leicester team is made up of a real mix of skills and experience

We really go the extra mile to make sure your experience with us is always positive. Below are some of my favorite EYFS (Early Years – Children aged about 2-5) outdoor maths ideas and activities. For ideas for outdoor maths activities for older children, you may want to see my post, Outdoor Maths Activities KS1.

Young children need to be able to manipulate and use hands-on materials to explore mathematical thinking. Using manipulatives and representing mathematical ideas in many different ways allows children to develop a deeper understanding and make connections between different areas of mathematics. Children need to be able to use objects to help them in counting and with number representation. This will help them start solving simple math problems so they can develop strong math skills (Anghileri, 2006).

Inspiring Crate Play And Learning

Children will gain a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts and how different areas are related if they are given opportunities to explore (Carruthers & Worthington, 2004). In the long run, this will help them develop confidence in mathematics, as well as allowing them to apply their learning to problem solving. These EYFS outdoor maths activities will help make connections and reinforce learning in the classroom.

I have organized activity theories and ideas outside of mathematics according to different learning areas for EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage). They are mainly for children aged 2-5, but can be adapted for older children as well.

This is because it is one of the main ways that they learn and begin to understand the world. In this blog, we will look at why free play is important for children and their development.

To understand why free play is so important, we must first understand what it is and what principles define it. When looking at the various styles and theories of play behind them, there are always rules and goals they want to achieve.

As “children choosing what they want to do, how they want to do it, and when to stop and try something else”. Free play has no external goals set by adults and no curriculum set by adults. Although adults usually provide space and materials for free play and may be involved, children lead, and adults respond to cues from them.

St John’s Early Years Playground Development

Although we will focus on children in this article, it is not exclusive to early years students. Free play is a creative activity of live and free improvisation by children, artists and people of all kinds. So you might want to try some of these habits yourself!

Before we explain why free play is so important, it is worth knowing that since children these days have limited opportunities to play, we should clarify exactly how play is important for children to learn and grow. Lack of opportunities to play is dangerous for children as it affects their emotional development, which can lead to increased anxiety, depression, and problems with attention and self-control. Without play, young people fail to acquire the social and emotional skills needed for healthy psychological development.

Besides this are obvious psychological benefits. One of the main reasons why creative play is important for children’s development is that it often develops their physical motor skills.
