This standard of practice teaches people to guide and supervise children and adults in a range of outdoor activities and pastimes, including canoeing, sailing, climbing, surfing, cycling, hill walking, archery, bushwalking, rock collecting, geology, plant identification, habitat and wildlife walks. Fully supervised training will expose learners to a variety of locations and weather conditions to prepare them for outdoor work.

Active IQ works with training providers to deliver this training across the UK. The qualification is open to learners aged 16+ and is expected to take between 12 and 18 months to complete. At the end of the training, when learners are ready for endpoint assessment, they will complete a practical test and take part in a professional discussion, alongside which they will be expected to present a portfolio of evidence gathered during their training. studies.
