I recently traveled around the UAE with Rotana hotels in search of some of the best adventure activities in the Middle East and I had an amazing time.
One of my favorite things about the UAE is how easy it is to get around. It sounds like doing all 7 Emirates in 8 days is a lot, but most of them are small.
In fact, I traveled from Sharjah to Amjan, then from Ajman to Umm Al Kuwain, before ending up in Ras al Khaimah all in one day.
That means if you are looking for some adventurous things to do in the UAE, coming from Abu Dhabi or Dubai is not a problem.

So, as a little inspiration for you for your holidays, here are the best adventures in the UAE!
Basically, it’s like the craziest roller coaster ride ever at 50km/h, all with sand blasting everywhere.
For a grueling hour I laughed and screamed as my driver Ali took me up steep sand dunes and along narrow ridges. Sometimes I’m not sure if the car isn’t sliding in front of the sand, but if you’re looking for that fear factor, this activity definitely has it.
Kids Activities In Abu Dhabi
You can go for sand dune bashing all over the UAE but the desert safaris in Abu Dhabi are considered the best. Also, with desert safari tickets costing around £45 per person, it’s amazing value for money.

July so it is one of the newest tourist attractions around. When I went to WB World it was abandoned. Ok, so I went on Monday afternoon but I didn’t have to line up for any rides which was amazing.
My two favorite areas were ‘Metropolis’ (with the Superman ride) and ‘Gotham City’ (with the Scarecrow and Riddler rides) and I felt like a kid on the rides again.

WB World is completely enclosed so you can visit at any time of the year. Plus, being indoors in the weather is a welcome break from the hot summer sun.
Tickets to WB World cost 295AED (£60) and it’s well worth an afternoon visit while in Abu Dhabi.
Also, just across the road from WB World is Ferrari World, home to the world’s fastest rollercoaster. This goes from 0 to 240 kph in just 4.9 seconds – mind blowing.
As I was traveling through the UAE I knew I had to use the longest zipline in the world. Talk about bucket list activities!
Fun Things To Do With Kids In Abu Dhabi
Located on the mountain of Jebel Jais, the longest zipline in the world is 2.8 kilometers of adrenaline inducing fun. Also, you fly at a speed of 140-160 kilometers per hour, which is just crazy when you think about it.
When you hit high speed though you can relax a bit and see the beautiful view of the mountains. That being said, I don’t think I stopped screaming for two minutes.
Tickets to Toro Verde cost 325AED (£66) and it takes the whole afternoon. Add in the viewing platform and driving through the rough and dense desert of Ras al Khaimah and I think it is very good value for money.
If there’s one icon that sings adventure at the top of your lungs, it’s skydiving on the palm trees in Dubai.
Outdoor And Extracurricular
I was talking to someone about this recently, and although being on a palm tree is amazing, you never know when you’re on a palm tree. The only way to really get that view is from above which means a helicopter ride or skydiving.
Although Palm skydiving is expensive (you’re looking at around £450 for the experience), you’re skydiving in one of the most unique places in the world.
Nothing can beat the feeling of free falling through the air as the image of a palm tree grows in the sky. Every second.
When it comes to kayaking in the UAE, the one place that everyone likes is Umm Al Quwain. This is because you can easily kayak out to the mangroves and it makes for a fantastic adventure in the UAE.
There Are 7 Things To Do In Abu Dhabi That You Must Not Miss
Although I did not see any turtles while kayaking in Umm Al Quwain, it is very common to see them in the area. However, I did see flamingos though which was a big surprise. I never thought there were flamingos in the UAE but I was totally wrong about that.
I went kayaking from the UAQ Marine Club which is like an adventure club with lots of activities to choose from. The best thing about this is that they have a swimming pool so you can take a relaxing dip after kayaking.
Hiring a kayak is fairly cheap (100AED, £20) and I would recommend it to anyone passing through Umm Al Quwain.
The beach in Fujairah is one of the best in the UAE so while I was staying at the Fujairah Rotana Resort & Spa I just went parasailing.
Things To Do In Abu Dhabi: Kayaking, Skydiving & More
The unique thing about the beach in Fujairah is that you have mountains in the background and they are very beautiful.
I like parasailing because it is very calm and relaxing when you are up in the air. Also, we got dunked a few times in the water for good measure!
While I was staying at The Cove Rotana Resort I picked up a jetski for the morning and zoomed along the coast. .
It’s when I go fast. From the sound of her voice I always knew I was pushing it too far, so this is an amazing adventure activity to do in the UAE.
An Adventure Across Abu Dhabi’s Diverse Landscapes
The architecture at the Cove is truly famous in Ras al Khaimah and people refer to it as ‘Santorini for the UAE; I think the best way to see this architecture if from a jet ski because then you get a real sense of size and grandeur.
When things get a little hotter in Dubai (read: every day) then make sure you go to Ski Dubai. If you haven’t heard of this place, you probably made it out – it’s a huge ski resort in the middle of the desert.
Yes, when it’s 50+ degrees outside you can play in the snow at -2 degrees. And we’re talking about real snow here folks, not just dry ski slopes!
The Polar Pass gives you access to the ski tower where you can go bobsledding, tobogganing, zorbing or riding a ski lift to the top of the slopes.

For me, I absolutely love Ski Dubai. It was really strange at first to go from the heat outside to the cold inside, but it was an amazing experience and definitely a must visit in Dubai.
Off the east coast of Fujairah, Martini Rock is probably the UAE’s best diving site. This place is home to an abundance of marine life and you’ll see things like stingrays, catfish, lionfish, and even a few turtles roaming around!
