Going through security at major airports can prove to be a stressful experience, even more so if you are late and under the pressure of catching a flight. After passengers empty their pockets and take out their wallet, smartphone, keys and loose change, it is almost inevitable that some coins will be left behind when rushing to the boarding gate. That loose change adds up and the Transportation Security Administration says some U.S. airports they benefit in the tens of thousands of dollars. In fact, the amount of loose change collected by TSA officials in fiscal year 2019, before the pandemic, was $926,030.44.
Although the number of passengers decreased significantly in 2020 due to the epidemic, $ 517, 978.74 was still lost to passengers. Once selected, candidates engage in online training before attending an intensive training program. The training is 120 hours of continuing education and includes advanced explosives identification, customer service, policies and procedures, body scanner technology, metal detectors and testing protocol.
