Most organizations will offer half-time or double-time pay for overtime or hours off. So earning $50 will make you $75 or $100 an hour for each additional hour worked.
This is also one of the reasons why some people like to work on holidays like Christmas or Thanksgiving. They have an opportunity to increase their salary by working the same amount of hours as they normally would.
