Amazon said in a blog post on Monday that it would hire 100,000 US warehouse and distribution workers and raise their wages by $2 an hour through April. The Wall Street Journal was the first to report it.
Amazon said it is investing about $350 million to increase the salary. The new jobs include full-time and part-time jobs, Amazon said, and would bring its total employee count to nearly 900,000 worldwide.

“We are seeing a significant increase in demand, which means our labor needs are unprecedented for this time of year,” the blog post said.
The moves are designed to help its warehouse and delivery workers as they deal with increased workloads during the coronavirus outbreak, which is causing more people to shop online.
Amazon said in a blog post over the weekend that as the coronavirus spreads around the world, it is seeing a sharp increase in online shoppers. That has caused some of its most popular brands and home staples to run out of stock, as well as delays to its normal delivery cycle.
“We are working around the clock with our retail partners to ensure all our products are available, and to bring in additional capacity to fulfill all your orders,” Amazon said in a blog post.

The median salary, calculated using the compensation of all full-time and part-time permanent and temporary employees worldwide excluding the CEO, was an increase of $159 from the previous year.

In his final letter to shareholders as CEO, Bezos wrote, “Two and a half years ago, when we set a $15 hourly minimum wage for our workers, we did it because we wanted to lead on wages – not run with the package only. – and because we believe it’s the right thing to do.” The company previously called out other large employers, including Walmart, not to raise its wage to $15.
The company has been criticized for its working conditions, especially for drivers, who have said that they have urinated in water bottles and defecated in bags when they are on the clock.
However, two workers at the Bessemer, Alabama, warehouse who voted against forming a union earlier this month said they did not want to unionize because of the good pay and benefits at the company.

However, in some cases, the additional payment and can be profit sharing, bonus, commission, and things like this less than 50K. In such cases, the total would be less.
This job is usually available for lower levels at Amazon. Like the previous one, there is a basic salary of $61, 964, and an additional salary of $20, 519. So the total annual salary is approximately $82,483 for this position.
