Rated 1 out of 5 by mandarose33 from Great but the music DOESN’T WORK. We bought this last weekend, after looking around for other sets. I love that it’s so big, esp. at this price. However, it doesn’t stay on track, no matter what we use. It’s easy to install, but when the train moves on them, the tracks diverge a little, and this causes the train or any car to be damaged. I spent three hours trying out different configurations of tracks and cars, and I couldn’t get a train to make even one full track without breaking down. It’s not too hard and bumpy, so my little one uses the remote control to steer it down the road. Also to note, it takes 4 C, 3 AAA and 1 9v (for the remote you need the music part) batteries to run. We appreciated that only two cars needed batteries, compared to each car using four batteries. All this aside, it will be easier to store them, than to carry them all to return. I am still on the hunt for the best version of this brand.

Like many others here I was disappointed that the train almost fell off the tracks because the weight of the batteries caused the whole thing to tip over. This keeps the front wheels off the road so the whole thing is wobbly. I think this is due to an assembly problem. The rear wheels can be installed in two ways. I noticed that when a locomotive is flat on the driving wheels, the rear wheels are higher than the driving wheels – that’s why they lean back. I removed the small eye from the actual wheel, turned the rear wheel, and bolted it back into place. Problem solved!! I gave 4 stars because of the last article of this forum which disappointed me and many others. Otherwise it looks like an interesting addition round our tree.

I bought another one this year to replace it but this one doesn’t work at all (it seems to have an on/off switch). I’ve given up – it seems the manufacturer can’t make a similar product and I’ve spent a lot of time going to the store to pick it up and return it.
