When you feel cooped up, your patience level can run out. And you can feel like a tornado went through your house!
Let me assure you that it’s completely normal to feel out of sorts when you’re stuck indoors for long periods of time during the winter. Please remind yourself of this and take a few calming breaths to help you cool down.
Fun Indoor Snow Day Activities To Do With Your Kids
Calming and relaxing visual imagery exercises are perfect for you and your children. These activities are fantastic when energy levels are high or in between any of those indoor winter activities.
Tighten your creative muscles. Even if you feel that you are not a fun mom or very patient, I know that you have it! Think outside the box and use what you have as supplies.
Or maybe you didn’t have much time to teach your kids how to cook and bake? Use this time to educate them about kitchen safety, measures, and ingredients.

You can choose a theme or just let your kids get creative. Don’t forget to bring your camera (or smartphone) with you to capture those special moments.
Fun Camping Games For Kids & Teens
Take it to the next level by playing background music. Oh, and your kids can make posters and signs to advertise!
Use washi tape or masking tape to mark the path. Your kids can enjoy racing their toy cars and other vehicles on these tracks.
Use toothpicks and marshmallows to create different shapes and textures. You can make different “awards”, like the most creative, the highest, etc.
Your children may enjoy learning to knit, crochet, or sew. My younger boys learned how to sew with the Easy Start Sewing video tutorials found on You ARE An Artist. I was so happy to have these videos to teach my boys as I struggle with sewing.

Board games are a popular indoor activity. You can play traditional board games such as Monopoly and Sea Battle. In addition, you can play certain games to work on an educational area such as math or reading.
One of our favorite indoor activities! Count to 10 (or higher!) while your kids hide. The first person found becomes the seeker in the next game.
Play simple card games like War and Go Fish! Try more challenging card games like Crazy Eights once your kids get used to the game.

Teen Party Games
You can recreate a bowling game from everything you have at home. Find empty plastic bottles or cans to use as pins. To knock them over, you can use a crumpled sock or a tennis ball.
My boys and I had a great time playing DIY bowling using empty toilet paper rolls. To make the pins, we use one of our free printable kits (like Harry Potter, Star Wars or Holidays).
You can make it fun by turning it into a challenge. See how many things you can donate like clothes, shoes, games and toys.
Purchase supplies (like crayons, markers and colored pencils), download fun coloring pages and have fun coloring.
Exciting Party Activities For Teens Of All Ages
You can spend the day lounging at home in your pajamas. Your children will surely enjoy this activity.
Or have a costume day! Everyone can choose (or put together) a suit and wear it all day.
You can put on a puppet show for your children. All you need is a pair of socks (or stuffed animals) and a book with a good storyline. Use your hands to replicate the movement of the puppets and add tonal variations to create a pleasing performance.
You can create all sorts of creative structures using LEGO and other blocks. Let your kids be as creative as possible.
