Fun Free Activities For Families – Happy Fourth of May! As you know, we’re big Star Wars heads around here, so today we’re doing fourth activities! I am so excited to have my good friend Kendra from The Things I Love Most guest post for me today. I met Kendra in February and she has become one of my best blogging friends. She is one of the kindest people I know and a great mom with lots of fun ideas for things to do with the family. Today she will share 40 fun and free activities to do this summer.
Summer is finally here! I love summer and all the fun summer activities we love to do as a family! Best to spend 2 1/2 months with my kids without as much structure as the school year! I like a little structure but I like to have a plan for our days so the kids don’t tell me they’re bored.
Fun Free Activities For Families
When I think of summer, I think of hiking, swimming, lots of popsicles, going to the movies, going on summer vacations, family gatherings, and playing with friends. It’s important to enjoy summer. Last year I came up with a bunch of fun summer ideas for the weekly Picto Douche Day for the kids! It helped motivate them to do their chores so we could do something fun! One of our favorite things to do last year was playing in the river. We went 1-2 times a week and the kids loved finding rocks, catching tadpoles and swimming with friends.

If you have kids, chances are you’ll be staying home with them for the next few weeks to practice social distancing. My kids wanted to help, so we brainstormed some of our favorite screen-free ideas and provided a free printable for you!
Fun + Free New Year’s Resolution Activity For Kids
(Trust me, they had plenty of screen ideas- make a video game of them, binge watch your favorite TV shows, watch movies. We’re not trying to spend 3 weeks completely screen-free at home.)
You can use it however you want, but I print two copies (one for each child) and let them work in whatever order they want. Older siblings can help the younger ones and honestly if they are older I find it a learning experience for them to find out how to do activities and clean up after themselves.
While most of the activities are self-explanatory, here are a few resources for completing activities and/or kits:

The key to a No Spend Weekend or No Spend Challenge is in planning. Gather your ideas and supplies you already have and make a family plan. This No Weekend Weekend printable will help you find fun things to do on weekends without paying. Focus on saving money for your family goals and don’t spend frivolously. These activities are awesome and will give you free things to do all year long. Now let’s go for some free fun.
Family Fun Day
I know the picture says 45 things to do on an unspent weekend, but I couldn’t stop at 45. As I write this and think about everything, we plan to do more activities this year. the mind I hope you and your family enjoy these free activities and it saves you a lot of money.
10. Make a budget plan – I know this isn’t the most fun activity, but you’ll feel good after seeing how much you can save without spending it all on the weekends.
13. Exercise – There are many ways to exercise in or around your home.
24. Clean your car – Kids love when they help wash the car. Make it a fun family activity and you’ll have a super clean vehicle. Yay!

27. Sleepovers – Kids love having friends over for the night, so why not throw pillows and blankets on the floor and sleep with a best friend for a movie?
