Classic Outdoor Games For Kids

This All About Me activity page is aimed at elementary school kids, but it’s fun for all ages. These types of activities are common in classrooms at the beginning of the school year.

During school closures, I thought this would be a fun activity to start virtual school in homeschooling and homeschooling. This is a transitional and perhaps scary time for children, and this activity is a creative opportunity and a fun way to focus on what makes them special.

It’s one of those activities that you want to do year after year, then store away and look back on for years to come. It will be interesting to see how their answers change as they get older.

Be sure to check out my Amazon store for my list of ideas to keep kids busy during school closures.

Fun Ways To Keep A Toddler Busy At Home

So you may need some extension activities or additional ideas to help you get through school closings!

Even though I was a fourth grade teacher for a few years before staying home with my kids, I can tell you that this transition is difficult. It’s sad to think that my son’s first year of school will end like this, but I feel lucky that he doesn’t remember it completely.

If you don’t already know, children learn best through imaginative play and sensory play. That is why activities are now such an important part of their everyday life. No one will stress over chalking a nice message to a neighbor or friend on the sidewalk.

Ball Games For Kids

I hope you can get some ideas from this list of “activities for kids” while we’re on lockdown and when we’re not! These activities are fun and you can repeat them whenever you want!

Add these when your kids are bored or feel like they need a break from schoolwork. There’s plenty of time! I’m tired of hearing, “I’m bored!” Tired of being told there is nothing to do? Looking for things to engage your son with? We assure you! This post is full of activities, hobbies, jobs, and more that teenagers will enjoy.

The “two” years (ages 10-12, but I include age 9) can be a challenging time. They’re not toddlers anymore, but they’re not teenagers either. The toys aren’t that fun, but they aren’t old enough to go somewhere alone or have a job.

My sons are currently 15, 12, 10 and 7 years old. My experience is that boys have a lot of energy. Constant climbing, jumping, running, etc. You’d think they’d outgrow that energy when they’re older, but then they’re older and they seem to have even more energy! Active play and heavy work (mowing grass, hauling stones, using tools, etc.) definitely need plenty of opportunities.

Best Gifts For 10 Year Olds For Birthdays And Holidays

NOTE: There is no set age when children are ready to do more dangerous things like mowing the lawn. You are the best judge of your child’s readiness – please don’t take my age recommendations as set in stone. This post is for reference and inspiration. Take what you can use and leave the rest.

And yes, girls will enjoy these activities too – this is just one resource for those looking for activities for boys.

Encourage unplugged play and hobbies! I’m not against technology at all, but I think it’s our role as parents to help our children find a balance in this area. Besides endless YouTube videos and video games, there are plenty of interesting things to do. But kids will never discover these things when electronics seem more interesting than anything else. Help them develop good habits and develop productive hobbies by letting technology reign in your home. Show your kids how to control their devices – don’t let them control you
