How lucky are we?!) and there’s nothing better than swimming in the middle of the deep end in one of Toronto’s burners. BUT, every pool has its own quirks – some require a quarter for lockers, some require a lock. Some allow you to take bags out on deck, some don’t… (Permanent only? Always bring flip-flops…!)

Safety protocols are in place for public swimming, including limited capacity, and swim times will be in 45-minute blocks “to ensure access for all,” according to pool managers.
“Tables have reverted to traditional times before the COVID-19 pandemic,” reads a post on the website. “As we get closer to the opening dates, some changes to timings may be made if necessary. Please check back and we’ll post updates when we have more information.”
Safety measures include limited access to changing rooms, no pool toys, no private hire or birthday bookings and no life jackets provided. Also, lane swimming at Bear Creek Park Pool and Hjorth Road Pool is only offered at designated times.
“We will actively monitor outdoor pools throughout the summer and may change procedures as necessary,” the Tides Out website states.

Meanwhile, only two of Surrey’s five indoor pools are currently open – Surrey Sports and Recreation Complex and Grandview Heights Aquatic Centre. Opening dates for the other three in Guildford, Newton and South Surrey are to be announced.
