PRTM nurtures entrepreneurs and those who want to make a difference in their communities.

Each semester, the recreational skills program provides more than 150 one-credit learning options in subjects such as dance, yoga, fitness, outdoor recreation and first aid, as well as shotgun and other sports. These classes give students a break from stress and have the added benefit of allowing them to learn something new while socializing with students, which can be critical for a student’s mental health – especially after a year of social distancing. The Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies believes that experiential learning is an important aspect of our degree program.

These opportunities allow you to engage and reflect on what you learn in the classroom, off campus and in the community.
