The football league consists of two leagues. men and allies, which are further divided into units based on the level of play. In the top divisions, the game is fast and the players are experienced. SoccerWorld has a pretty nice complex with a heated dome, a bar and free parking. We’re still not sure if their bar is ever open. Their two indoor courts are perfect for 6v6 or 7v7 games. They also have an outdoor mini court perfect for 3v3 or 4v4 pickup games that they host.

SoccerWorld is quite difficult/frustrating to get to by public transport, but still accessible. It is about a 10-15 minute walk from the nearest bus stop.

Indoor Soccer Update
Just outside the St. George subway station in the heart of Toronto, this football-sized turf field is exceptional. They usually only rent it out to UofT students at an incredibly high price.
St. After 6 p.m., local groups can rent the field, which is open to the community the rest of the time.
Every year from November 1 to April 30, Alan A. Lamport is leased by the City to Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE). The municipality does not staff or operate the facility during this time. The campus turf fields behind the University of Toronto’s St. George Campus are about as good as it gets for free pick-up. They have hosted “supervised” fall soccer at Back Campus, M-F, 4:30-7:30, beginning May 1, 2017. This means you can just turn up there and there will be games to join.

Encompassing two pro-sized fields, also divided into smaller sections by white lines, this is suitable for smaller games when you only need 1/4 of the field and don’t have your own goalposts. The university runs the field with its own programming, so sometimes it gets booked up. The back varsity fields are home to many pickup football games held on weekdays and weekends during the spring and summer.
Tip #2. lights out around 10pm so make sure you start the game on time. There’s plenty of pickup after 5pm every day of the week in the summer, so you can usually just turn up and join some of the local players.
The front campus lawn at the University of Toronto is also a great place for pickup soccer as well as other recreational sports. The university cuts the grass and maintains this garden area until the fall. It can be muddy, so don’t go after a night of rain (no underground vacuums here).
Location hint. You can usually find a fairly large patch of grass in this large open area, but be careful during convocation hours. The UofT uses this large space to house their huge convocation tent(s), and they won’t let your footy get in the way of completing their academics, even if you claim it’s for exercise and the health of the city (we tried !!)
