It makes you feel like you’re really going somewhere. It has relaxation and great activities.”

Simply put, Bali is a perfect paradise. The beaches are beautiful and also serve as a paradise for surfers and other water sports lovers. Even beginner swimmers are offered snorkeling or diving lessons in Bali.
If you’re traveling through Indonesia, the southwest offers stunning views of the Indian Ocean, while the varied terrain includes rice paddies, pristine waterfalls, and lush monkey forests. The travel time to get to Bali is long which is a deal breaker for some. “It’s roughly 36 hours from the United States,” says Smith. “You can’t get there with one flight. You’re looking at at least two, in most cases two or three flights.”
It’s also a very ocean-centric honeymoon, with water sports and beach activities being a common theme. Couples who prefer to stay near mountains, open meadows, vineyards or lakes may want to consider going elsewhere. The optimal time to visit Bali is from mid-September to May. “After that period, you’re dealing with very humid conditions,” says Smith. – As in most of Asia, monsoon conditions prevail here in late summer and early autumn.

Ubud is a relaxed, culture-oriented city. You won’t find a hopping nightlife here, but you will find plenty to do. There are several Hindu temples worth seeing, including Gunung Kawit, an 11th-century structure that can only be climbed down 300 steps. Pura Penataran Sasih (Penataran Sasih Temple, also known as the Temple of the Moon) is home to Southeast Asia’s largest bronze cauldron, the Pejeng Moon.
About 700 long-tailed macaques call the Ubud Monkey Forest home, and visitors can feed these animals peanuts while exploring the community-managed sanctuary. Uluwatu is popular with tourists for its white sand beaches, but there’s plenty of room to stretch out and relax. The nearby Uluwatu Temple is a Hindu temple perched on the cliffs overlooking the water. Just watch your back if you visit this place – monkeys have been known to take people’s belongings off. Walk around around sunset to witness a Kecak fire dance that takes place near the rocks at 6pm every day. Popular beaches for surfing and relaxing include Padang Padang and Thomas Beach. And Jimbaran Bay, a paradise for surfers and seafood lovers, is less than 10 miles away.

As wonderful as the nights are, there are plenty of things to do during the day, from relaxing on the beach to a trip to Tanah Lot, the sea temple.
This upscale resort area is known for its luxury hotels and manicured lawns. Most of the fun takes place within the resorts, which boast all-inclusive packages and water sports. Located 90 minutes from Ubud, Canggu was once a hidden gem but has become increasingly popular, especially among surfers.
